With Translations in Nectar Comms, your team can send messages in multiple languages without manually translating each one. This makes communications more inclusive and ensures everyone receives messages in their preferred language.

Translations are generated automatically, but you can preview or edit any version if you want to customize it for your audience.

How do I set recipient language preferences?

Before sending multilingual communications, each recipient must have a preferred language set.

You can assign preferred languages in a few ways:

  • Recipients: Can update their own language preference in their profile.

  • Admins: Can assign preferences:

    • Individually from the Recipients page

    • Using bulk actions in Nectar

🌟 Tip: Set language preferences before building your communication to ensure translation options appear.

How do I create a translated communication?

1. Create a new communication

Start by creating a new communication in Comms.

You’ll see translation-related options in:

  • The top-right corner of the editor

  • The Send or Schedule section

Note: Languages won’t appear until recipients are added.

2. Add recipients

Once recipients are added:

  • Any non-English language preferences will automatically show in the editor and in Send or Schedule.

3. Preview or edit translations (optional)

To manage translations:

  • Use the language switcher in the editor to view different versions.

  • Each version is auto-generated from English by default.

  • You can edit any language version independently.

  • If you make changes to English and want those applied across all languages, click Update All Translations.

💡 You don’t need to edit translations unless you want to. If no changes are needed, the system will handle it for you automatically.

4. Choose between a multi-language send or English

  • By default, Nectar Comms will send communications in recipient’s preferred language

    • The “Preferred Languages” dropdown will show how which languages are preferred by recipients in your workspace.

  • If “Only send in English” is selected, the communication will be delivered to all recipients in English

5. Review and send

Before sending:

  • In the Send or Schedule tab:

    • Send a test email to preview how the communication will look when delivered to recipients.

    • Test emails can be sent in any language preferred by recipients on the communication.

  • When you send, each recipient will receive the message in their preferred language—or in English if no translation is selected.

Summary

  • Recipients can set or update their preferred language anytime.

  • Translations are automatically generated based on recipient preferences.

  • You can edit each translation individually, if needed.

  • If no edits are made, Nectar will still deliver messages in the right language—automatically.
