What is Engage?
Engage is Nectar’s survey-building tool designed to collect employee feedback on satisfaction, engagement, and workplace experience. Surveys are simple, customizable, and can be sent to specific teams or company-wide.
How do I create a new survey?
To start a new custom survey with multiple questions:
Log in to your Nectar account.
Navigate to the Engage tab in the top-left corner.
Click Surveys > Custom and then Create New Survey.
You’ll be redirected to the survey builder where you can add and organize your questions.
To do an eNPS survey:
Log in to your Nectar account.
Navigate to the Engage tab in the top-left corner.
Click Surveys > eNPS and then Manage eNPS.
🌟 Note: eNPS questions cannot be edited at this time. Click the link above to go the the next steps for eNPS.
🌟 Note: You must be marked as a Engage Admin in your permissions to be able to build a survey.
What types of survey questions can I use?
You can choose from four question types:
Multiple Choice: Predefined answer options, with optional multi-select.
Likert Scale: Measure attitudes on a fixed scale.
Slider: Let users select a value along a number scale.
Open Response: Free text input from employees.
📣 Tip: When adding your first question, either click the option under Select a Question, or choose Add Question and select the type you want.
How do I set up each question type?
Each question type has different options. Here’s how to configure them:
Multiple Choice
Enter your question text.
Add answer options.
Optional:
Add “Other” + Free Response field.
Enable Multi-Select so employees can choose more than one answer.
Answer Required so users can’t skip the question.
Likert Scale
Enter your question text.
Optional: Enable Answer Required.
Note: The scale (e.g., 1–5) is fixed and cannot be changed.
Slider
Enter your question text.
Define Label 1 and Label 2 (anchors for the scale).
Optional: Enable Answer Required.
Note: The number range on the slider cannot be edited.
Open Response
Enter your question text.
Optional: Enable Answer Required.
🌟 Important: All responses are anonymous by default. For Open Response questions, employees can choose to add their name.
Can I rearrange questions in my survey?
Yes, to reorder questions:
Locate the list of questions on the left side of the builder.
Click and drag the question you want to move.
Drop it into the new order.
How do I customize survey settings?
Go to the Survey Settings tab to configure the following:
Survey Presentation
Add a Title to introduce the survey.
Customize colors and design if desired.
Survey Duration
Set an end date for when the survey will close.
People
Select the people who will receive this survey.
You can:
Search individual recipients,
Add Everyone in your account,
or build a list of users to send it too.

To protect employee confidentiality, data is only available for groups of five or more people. Make sure your selection includes at least five recipients to view the results.
Survey Rewards 🌟
Assign Nectar Points as a reward for survey completion.
See an estimate of total points if all recipients complete the survey.
Delivery Channels
Set how the survey will be sent to employees. Add:
Subject Line
Preview Text
From Name
From Email
Reply-To Email
🌟 Important: Your company must have DNS configured to edit the “From Email” address.
Can I preview the survey before sending?
Yes, to preview the employee view of the custom survey:
Click Preview Survey in the top menu of the builder.
You'll be redirected to a full preview.
How do I send or schedule my survey?
After reviewing your survey:
Choose one of the following:
Send Immediately
Schedule to Send Later
Review all details.
Click Send.
What if some details are missing?
If your survey is missing required information:
A pop-up will alert you to what's incomplete.
Click Fix Details to jump to the missing section.
Complete all required fields before sending.
