Installing the integration

1. Add Nectar to your Slack workspace

  • Go to the Workspace Settings > Integrations

  • Under the Slack section, click Add to Slack.

2. Grant permission to the Nectar bot

  • You will be redirected to Slack to grant access to the bot.

  • Select a channel under “Where should Nectar Bot post?”

  • Click Allow to complete the installation.

Note: The Nectar bot will automatically join the selected Slack channel and post a welcome message so you know it has been installed.

Check connection or add the bot to another channel

If you switch channels or want to confirm the bot is active:

  • On the Nectar Integration page, click Send Test.

  • The page will either confirm the bot is connected or prompt you to manually add it to the channel.

To manually add the bot to a channel:

  1. Go to your desired Slack channel.

  2. Type @Nectar in the message field and press send.

  3. Click Add them when prompted.

Tip: After adding the bot, you can click Send Another Test to confirm it’s connected correctly.

Post shoutouts in Slack

  • Shoutouts will appear in the Slack channel you selected.

Please note: Some things do not post to slack from Nectar. The things that do not post to slack are:

  • Group shoutouts

  • Public Challenge approvals

  • Gifs
