Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Your security matters to us and we’re committed to making it our top priority. This is why we require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when logging in to provide an additional layer of protection for your valuable information.

❗ Important - MFA is required for all Admins as of June 6, 2023 but is not applicable for companies that restrict logins to SSO, or any regular users/managers.

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

MFA is a simple but powerful security feature that adds an extra step to the login process. In addition to entering your password, you will now be prompted to provide a second form of verification, ensuring that only you can access your account.

Is MFA required for all users?

Currently, no. MFA is only required for Admins who do not utilize Single Sign On.

Why are we implementing MFA? In today's digital world, cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. By implementing MFA, we are proactively safeguarding your account against unauthorized access and potential data breaches. Your peace of mind is our primary concern.

How does MFA work? When logging into your account, you will be prompted to enter your password as usual. Following that, you will receive a unique, one-time verification code on your registered mobile device or through an authentication app. Simply enter this code when prompted to complete the login process. Rest assured, this additional step only takes a few seconds and significantly strengthens the security of your account.

When will MFA be implemented?

We will be rolling out MFA to all admins on Tuesday, June 6th 2023.

*note: this feature is not applicable for companies that restrict all logins to SSO or any other login methods.

How to prepare for MFA: If you intend to use a third party authenticator app, you will need to install the app on their personal or work phone.

Can I opt out?

This feature is not applicable for companies that restrict all logins to SSO or any other login methods. All other admins will be required to use MFA when logging in.

How do I know whether to use the authentication app or phone number?

Third party authenticator apps are more secure and will ensure your account information is very safe. MFA through a text to your phone number is also secure and will most likely save some time.

Will I need to do MFA every time I sign in?

MFA will be required every 90 days to ensure the ongoing security of your account. Once you login using a device or a browser, it will be remembered for that 90 day period. Once the 90 days is up, it will require you to use MFA again the next time you log in. Note: If you have the login page bookmarked (app.nectarhr.com/login), you will be asked to do MFA every time. We recommend bookmarking the main page (app.nectarhr.com).

Where can I access my new code after I set MFA up? Where does the code appear for my next login?

Based on your method of setup (Authenticator app, Text Message, or iPhone authenticator), you will receive a new code. Check out our other support articles for more detailed instructions.
