  • To update your setting preferences to make your birthday or work anniversary private, click on your name on the bottom left side bar to enter your profile settings.

  • Then, go to the Personal Information tab, which lists your user profile information.*

  • Scroll down until you find the Birthday and Hire Date section.

  • If you want to make either or both private, you will check the box that says Keep my birthday/work anniversary shoutout private.

  • You can also completely disable birthday shoutouts:

    • When disabled, no birthday notifications—public or private—will be generated or sent for yourself.

    • Setting your birthday to private only affects birthday notifications and doesn't impact other types of notifications in Nectar. - When set to private, Nectar will not send public birthday messages in Slack channels or display it on the home feed. Instead, a notification will be visible only to you and not shared with colleagues.

    • These privacy settings remain in effect throughout your birthday month.

  • Then make sure to press the Save Changes button.

*If any of your user profile information is incorrect, please contact your company admin to assist with updating.
