What does the Welcome Bot do?
The Welcome Bot automatically gives a welcome bonus to users when they:
Set up their Nectar account
AND log in for the first time
This bonus appears in the social feed on the home page, allowing your team to:
See new hires as they join
Add on comments or additional points to welcome them
How do I configure the Welcome Bot?
The Welcome Bot is pre-installed in all accounts and comes with a default message and award amount. You can customize both and add an image if you'd like.
To update the message or award amount:
Go to Workspace Settings.
Click Awards from the left sidebar.
Find the Welcome to Nectar award in the list on the Automated tab.
Click the pencil icon on the right to edit.
A pop-up window will appear where you can:
Edit the message
Adjust the award amount
Choose whether the message should be publicly visible
Note: Your welcome message must include these keywords:
@receiver_username
– for the system to automatically tag the new user
+amount
– to show the awarded points
Once you’ve made your changes, click Save.
How do I turn the Welcome Bot on or off?
To disable or re-enable the Welcome Bot:
Go to Workspace Settings.
Click Awards from the left sidebar.
Find the Welcome to Nectar award in the list on the Automated tab.
Toggle the switch to the left of the Award title:
Green = ON
Gray = OFF
Tip: When the bot is off, new users will not receive the automatic welcome bonus and users will not receive it retroactively if you toggle it back on.
