What is Kiosk Mode?

  • Kiosk Mode is a way to have Nectar on a shared device is a secure way for employees to utilize in the workspace.

  • Users will be limited in the abilities they can do in Nectar on the shared device and users will be auto-logged out after a period of inactivity on the device.

How to turn on Kiosk Mode

  • An Admin for your company can enable Kiosk Mode on a shared device. To enable it, you will go to Settings, scroll down to the bottom of the General Settings page and click Enter Kiosk Mode.

  • Another pop up will display to confirm that you want to enable it, select Yes, Launch to fully enable.

❗ Once a device is entered into Kiosk Mode, it will stay in Kiosk Mode until an Admin logs into that specific device and exits Kiosk Mode.

User Experience

  • Once a device is entered into Kiosk Mode, Nectar will look slightly different with some options limited.

  • Nectar Kiosk Mode provides users with streamlined access to three key actions:
    1. Send a Shoutout
    2. Claim a Challenge (if enabled)
    3. Nominate a Peer for active Nominations (if enabled)

❗ Rewards will not be able to be redeemed in Kiosk Mode. Because it is a shared device that function is removed and rewards can be redeemed on a users' personal device.

  • The session will automatically log the user out after 30 seconds of inactivity. A countdown will display in the top right corner for when the auto-log out will happen.

How to turn off Kiosk Mode

  • To turn off Kiosk Mode, an admin will need to login to the shared device it was enabled on and select Exit Kiosk Mode at the bottom left of the page.

  • This will auto-log you out and when you log back in on this device it will no longer be in Kiosk Mode.
